It has been declared a "Natural Monument". It is an effusive volcanic complex linked to an east-west fracture, which gave rise to three small dome-shaped volcanoes made up exclusively of piles of viscous lava flows which, by moving slightly laterally, are located above the point of emission. These accumulations served as a quarry for the Romans [...]"[1].
